Core faculty
Suman Rath
Lab Director · Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer EngineeringHe works on resilient control of power grids using digital twins, graph algorithms and artificial intelligence. He received his PhD from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2025, and worked at the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory on decentralized cyberattack recovery and federated learning for DER cybersecurity.
Kaveh Ashenayi
Professor of Electrical & Computer EngineeringHans A. Norberg Endowed Chair in Electrical Engineering and a licensed professional engineer, on the TU faculty since 1986. His research spans intelligent systems for power, dispatchable renewable energy, and safety-assured AI controllers. He leads our work on surrogate modeling and digital twin dataset generation for inverter-based microgrids.
Douglas Jussaume
Associate Professor of Electrical & Computer EngineeringHe teaches across a broad range of the ECE curriculum, and his interest in learning by building carries directly into his research: he leads our work on AI for experiential learning in power engineering, and works on the Tulsa grid digital twin.
