Prospective PhD students

We are a new lab, which means the projects are still being shaped and there is real room to define your own direction rather than inherit someone else's. If you are interested in resilient grid control, power system cybersecurity, reinforcement learning, digital twins, or edge-deployable AI, email Suman with:

Please put [PhD] in the subject line and say something specific about our work. Formal applications go through TU graduate admission; emailing first is still worth it.

TU undergraduates

Our undergraduates' work is not peripheral — it includes the simulators the rest of the lab runs on and the drone module that was tested on a real utility network. If you are a TU undergraduate who wants to build something real, email Suman with [Undergrad] in the subject line. No prior research experience is expected.

There are also routes through the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) and through senior design.

Industry and utilities

We are interested in collaborations where our tools can be tested against real operating conditions — grid data, field access, or problems you would like modeled. Our drone monitoring module was tested on a de-energized section of the Public Service Company of Oklahoma network, and that kind of partnership is how the work becomes useful. Email Suman directly.
